Open Farm Days

Looking for a peaceful day on the farm? Our Open Farm Day is a relaxed, self-guided experience designed for those who simply want to enjoy the animals and slow down for a while.

Spend time wandering the farm at your own pace, meeting our miniature animals, brushing your favorites, feeding treats, and taking in the sights and sounds of a real working farm. There are no guided tours, scheduled activities, or structured demonstrations—just a chance to experience everyday life at Evans Acres.

As you explore, you'll likely see us caring for the animals, feeding, cleaning, and tackling the endless list of farm chores that keep the farm running. Feel free to say hello or ask questions along the way!

Whether you're looking for a peaceful family outing, a chance to reconnect with nature, or simply want to spend time with some of the friendliest miniature animals around, Open Farm Day is the perfect opportunity.

Your visit includes:

  • Self-guided access to the farm

  • Meet dozens of miniature farm animals

  • Brush and interact with many of the animals

  • Feed approved treats (available for purchase)

  • Plenty of photo opportunities

  • A chance to experience authentic farm life

What is Open Farm Day?

Open Farm Day is a relaxed, self-guided opportunity to visit Evans Acres. Wander the farm at your own pace, meet the animals, brush them, feed approved treats, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of a real working farm.

Is this a guided farm tour?

No. This is not a guided tour. You're free to explore designated areas of the farm at your own pace.

Will there be activities or demonstrations?

No. There are no scheduled activities, games, or demonstrations. This experience is all about slowing down and simply enjoying the animals and the farm.

 

Will the owners be there?

Yes! We'll be around caring for the animals and doing our daily farm chores. Feel free to say hello or ask questions if you see us.

 

Can we interact with the animals?

Absolutely! Many of our miniature animals love attention. You can pet, brush, and interact with many of them. Animal interactions may vary depending on the animals' needs that day.

Can we feed the animals?

Yes! Approved animal treats are available for purchase at the farm. Please do not bring outside food for the animals.

 

How long can we stay?

Your admission allows you to come and go anytime during Open Farm Day hours. Stay for 30 minutes or spend several hours enjoying the farm.

Is the farm stroller and wagon friendly?

Yes! Most of the farm is accessible by stroller or wagon, though you'll be traveling on gravel, dirt, and uneven farm terrain.

 

Can we bring a picnic?

Yes! You're welcome to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it in our designated seating areas. Please clean up after yourselves and do not feed human food to the animals.

 

Can we bring our dog?

No. For the safety of our animals and your pet, outside animals are not permitted on the farm.

 

Is the farm open if it rains?

Open Farm Day is held rain or shine unless severe weather creates unsafe conditions.

 

Can we buy farm products while we're there?

Absolutely! Our farm store will be open with our goat milk soaps, lotions, lip balms, farm merchandise, fresh eggs (when available), and other farm goodies.

 

What should we wear?

Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting a little dusty. This is a real working farm!

 

Are restrooms available

Yes, restrooms are available for guests.

 

Do I need to buy tickets ahead of time?

No. You can purchase them at the farm at our ticket booth. Cash, card, Venmo, and Apple Pay accepted.

Is Open Farm Day offered every week?

We'll see how this first one goes! If everyone enjoys it, we'd love to make it a regular opportunity throughout the season.
